Cytosome Therapy

Cytosomes™ are small, membrane-bound extracellular vesicles released by the developing fetus, placenta, and mother into the amniotic fluid.

What Are Cytosomes?

Cytosomes are small, membrane-bound Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) released by the developing fetus, placenta, and mother into the amniotic fluid.

What Are Extracellular Vesicles?

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are lipid bilayer-enclosed, cytosol containing spheres that are released by all eukaryotes and prokaryotic cells into the extracellular environment. Primarily, EVs act in cell-to cell communication.

What Functions May Cytosomes Serve in a Clinical Setting?

  • Tissue Regeneration, Pain Relief & Wound Healing
  • Vascular & Angiogenesis (New blood vessel formation from pre-existing vessels)
  • Antimicrobial Activity
  • Stem and Progenitor Cell Activation
  • Immune Modulation
  • Neuroprotection

How Do Cytosomes Work?

Cytosomes are the great communicators. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) primarily act in cell-to-cell communication, assisting in the natural regenerative process. When cells signal in a paracrine fashion (quick release of signals to induce changes in nearby cells), they use EVs to package and transmit the messages. Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) are lipid bilayer enclosed, cytosol-containing spheres that are released by all eukaryotes and prokaryotic cells into the extracellular environment. Primarily, Cystosomes are produced to the highest possible standards to retain the integrity of their cargo.

How are Cytosomes Developed?

Cytosomes are procured from consenting, healthy, carefully screened, and tested mothers at the time of cesarean section. Recovery is performed by tissue banks accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) following the stringent guidelines enforced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Not all amniotic fluid is the same. The difference lies in the source material, quality of the processing technique, particle size, concentration, and protein and ribonucleic acid (RNA) concentration. With a unique processing technique, Cytosomes are crystal clear, never pink and never cloudy which may compromise outcome data.

The amniotic fluid where our Cytosomes are sourced is twice sterile filtered, which maintains the biological integrity of RNAs, ensuring the highest quality product. Cytosomes are the great communicators in the body. When cells signal, they use EVs to package and transmit the messages.

How are Cytosomes Administered?

Cytosomes may be used alone without other birth tissue products, or in conjunction with Cellular Wharton’s Jelly (RESTOR). Depending on the joint or condition, Cytosomes may be diluted with preservative-free saline or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or in many cases may simply be injected “as is” once thawed to room temperature.

  • Cytosomes are produced on site by highly trained scientists at a cGMP compliant laboratory in ISO 7 cleanrooms.
  • Each 1cc of Cytosomes contains an average of 250 billion (+/-100 billion) EVs.
  • Cytosomes particle size is consistently between 50 – 150 nm.
  • Sterility is validated by a qualified and independent CLIA certified lab.
